It is a good idea to have several towels ready when you are giving a foot massage. You will also want to have lotions and creams within reach. A rich cream works wonders for feet that are rough and callused. Creams can be scented with eucalyptus or mint. They help refresh your feet in addition to smelling great. Tea tree oil is a natural disinfectant. It works well for feet that tend to retain odors. You can also make your own creams to use with various oils.
For best results, the feet need to be absolutely clean before giving a foot massage. Soaking the feet in Epsom Salt dissolved in warm water will help the entire body begin to relax as the foot massage begins. After cleaning them, make sure they are dried completely, especially between the toes. Massage the feet one at a time. Follow a routine, and then repeat on the other foot. Gently add cream to the entire foot from the top to the bottom. Don’t forget the toes and ankles.

Stroke the week slowly towards the ankles, and then move on to the soles of the feet. Place a towel at the bottom of the recipients pant leg to protect their clothing. You want to begin applying more pressure as you massage the entire area again. Use gentle, circular motions to massage the feet. Gently stretch the feet as you rub them.

Add more cream as needed while you continue to rub the feet. End the foot massage by repeating the steps again very lightly. Once you have finished the foot massage, make sure the soles of the feet are completely dry to prevent slipping or falling. The recipient will now feel energized and the feet fresh and soft.
